Growing number of visitors to the State Museum at Majdanek
In 2016, number of people who visited the State Museum at Majdanek increased again. Nearly a half of 213,237 visitors to the Museum and its branches came from abroad (93 227 people).
More and more people are taking advantage of the Museum educational offerings. Workshops and seminars held by the institution have won recognition mainly among German pedagogues (as proven with the publication called “Forschendes Lernen in Majdanek” – link below).
Classes held as part of “Available Culture” programme funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage are popular among Polish school groups, as well as free guided tours through the museum exhibitions, organized mainly for people visiting Lublin.
Number of users of the Museum website is consistently increasing. Last year it was accessed over 700,000 times. A part of the site is a calendar of visits which makes it possible to book a guide on-line. The website is also fully accessible by the disabled, as proven with the certificate Website without Barriers the Museum was awarded.
