Anniversary of prisoners' revolt
76 years ago, as a result of revolt, prisoners escaped from the German Nazi extermination camp in Sobibór.
On the anniversary of these events, at 12.00 on October 14, the Museum and Memorial Site in Sobibór – currently under construction – will open its area to anyone willing to pay homage to the murdered. It will be possible to lay flowers next to the clearing with mass graves.
Also on this day, a lecture about the history of the Sobibór death camp will be held at the Complex of Synagogue Buildings in Włodawa (ul. Czerwonego Krzyża 7). The event, accompanied by a multimedia presentation by Krzysztof Handor, an employee of the Museum and Memorial Site in Sobibór, will start at 17.45.
Admission is free.
