77th anniversary of the prisoners' uprising at the German extermination camp in Sobibór
On October 14, 2020, we are celebrating the 77th anniversary of the prisoners’ uprising at the German Nazi death camp in Sobibór.
At 12.00 p.m. at the Museum and Memorial Site in Sobibór, representatives of the State Museum at Majdanek will lay flowers and light candles next to the clearing with mass graves to commemorate the victims. In view of health and safety aspects there won't be official ceremonies.
Delegations wishing to pay tribute to the murdered will have opportunity to do that with respecting all safety rules of the sanitary regime (keeping a distance, covering mouth and nose).

** Because of the threat of the COVID-19, the permanent exhibition ”SS-Sonderkommando Sobibor. The German Death Camp 1942–1943”, which is being constructed in the new building of the Museum and Memorial Site in Sobibór, it is going to be open to visitors at a later date. Detailed information about the opening will appear on our website and on social media.
